Tree Planting Initiative with Chrismilia Secondary School

As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and youth engagement, the Rotary Club of Bonny Island partnered with Chrismilia Secondary School to carry out a tree planting initiative. The project involved planting indigenous and environmentally beneficial trees within the school premises. Students actively participated in preparing the soil, planting, and watering the trees under the guidance of Rotarians and local environmental experts. The initiative aimed to instil environmental responsibility, foster ownership of their surroundings, and raise awareness of climate action. A short educational session complemented the activity, highlighting the long-term benefits of trees in combating climate change and promoting green development.
