Joint Rivers State Polio Immunization, Campaign, and Fundraising

From a local need to shared action.

To commemorate World Polio Day, 51 Rotary Clubs across Rivers State came together in a unified effort to intensify public awareness on polio and strengthen child immunization. The campaign focused on educating mothers and caregivers about the dangers of non-vaccination, promoting timely immunization, and mobilizing support for global polio eradication efforts. The activities for the day included a statewide Polio Walk, targeted immunization drives in communities, and a charity concert aimed at raising funds for the cause. Through these combined interventions, the project delivered direct benefits to children under the age of five by expanding access to life-saving vaccines. It also indirectly empowered tens of thousands of caregivers and community members with knowledge on disease prevention, ultimately reaching more than 10,000 children across the state.
